Forming carbon–carbon bonds is a key reaction in organic synthesis as it builds the backbone of organic molecules. Chemists have developed a variety of methods for catalyzing this transformation. In this webinar we want to focus on nature’s very own catalysts, enzymes, that are capable of linking two carbon atoms together and by doing so, building the framework of organic molecules with high efficiency.

We will provide a broad overview on the newly established toolbox of C-C-forming enzymes for organic synthesis and discuss industrial applications and opportunities. Further, we will demonstrate how computer guided enzyme engineering can help to leverage the full power of these enzymes and to utilize them for sustainable chemical manufacturing at scale, where enzymatic processes can often be designed to outperform traditional chemistry in terms of selectivity, atom economy and reduced number of synthetic steps.

This webinar will be presented by Dr Marco Bocola and Dr Grzegorz Kubik from Enzymaster, who are kindling sponsoring this session which takes place at the following time:

16.00 CET (Paris, Madrid, Frankfurt etc)

22.00 BJS (China)
